Biography
Dr Lyndsay Galpin finished her PhD on male suicide in 19th-century Britain at Royal Holloway, University of London in 2019. Her PhD thesis explored how interpretations of suicidal motive were guided by (and contributed to) cultural expectations of gender at the time, and she has since been published as a monograph titled Male Suicide and Masculinity in 19th-Century Britain with Bloomsbury Academic. Her research interests are in the history of suicide, geographies of suicide, gender, histories of madness, and religion.
